What to expect on your first visit at Scottsdale Chiropractor Dr. Gregory Landau

Any new experience, especially when it comes to your health, can be unnerving.  We understand this and we will make every effort to make your first experience very comfortable. Our friendly staff  and the doctors will answer any questions and address any concerns you may have. We recommend for your first appointment, you arrive fifteen minutes early to complete the required paperwork.  A complete health history is the first step for any new chiropractic patient. We will ask about old injuries, chronic problems, and your current symptoms.  What are your sensitive or painful areas?  When did the pain start?  What caused the pain? In addition, the doctor might inquire about your family history, dietary habits, job or work habits, previous injuries, and any other treatment you have had (chiropractic, osteopathic, medical, etc.). After reviewing the health history, the doctor meets with the patient to discuss the problems and determine how they can best be treated. If the doctor feels chiropractic will help you, then (and only then) he will recommend a treatment plan or if conditions allow, discuss a choice of treatment options.

Treatments will be tailored to your specific needsaddressing your specific health problems and personal concerns. Aside from adjustments, other therapeutic methods, massage techniques, or home care remedies may be recommended.

Does Chiropractic hurt?

Typical chiropractic adjustments do not hurt. The patient may experience a minor amount of discomfort during the adjustment which lasts only seconds in an effort to correct misalignments and / or "fixations" in the spine that are causing pain or other symptoms and may have been present for years. Any discomfort you may have following your first few adjustments can be compared to the soreness you have after a hard workout at the gym.
